Gyu-Kaku Japanese BBQ – Orlando, Florida

The world famous franchise Japanese BBQ is finally landing in our city. I’ve seen this BBQ place from my last trip to Indonesia. the menu is kinda different with an all you can eat type of style.

    Lets get ready to order..

The style for cooking meat is very different than Korean. Personally I prefer this one better. The meat being cooked on a mesh grill will definitely taste better.

We ordered two sets of the meat lover’s, which came with Gyu-kaku salad, Miso soup, edamame, and Japanese fried chicken and rice.

For desert we ordered our favorite matcha ice cream. so delicious, I wish I can have this every single day!

  • Swedish Crayfish Party | IKEA – Orlando, FL

Swedish Crayfish Party | IKEA – Orlando, FL

I was so sad to find out this years Swedish Crayfish Party from IKEA was canceled. These photos were from the 2017 event. It was such a fun year and we had many great friends join with me and also my mom. My buddy after this event became a huge fan of the crayfish AKA crawfish.

We attending this event after the big hurricane Irma hit Florida with so we got chance to to hang out with Queena and Eric.

The party also came with a hat and plastic aprons. Very Cute!

Here’s the size of the crayfish they offered. Nice, clean and very delicious.

The Swedish meatball are always awesome!

Overall great price and selection. It’s totally worth it for the once a year event. hopefully, they will bring back this event next year!

  • Pacsun x Fear Of God Essentials collection.

Pacsun x Fear Of God Essentials collection.

Jerry Lorenzo’s the owner of the Fear of God diffusion line, recently released an exclusive line with Pacsun. The Prices range from $40 to $350 US. Personally, I think this type of line doesn’t meet the standards as original F.O.G products. The price and design didn’t balance at all. the simple design and overcharged price for sure the line will end up on the clearance rack at Pacsun.

I was able to get the solid yellow on black color on their sales page. .

For the black tee I was lucky to be able to check the local store for the design before the release. Overall I think  Jerry and PacSun still try clearing up the stuff leftover from season one into today, sadly the sale and quality and design didn’t balance well, many FOG fans commented the design being way too boring to pay for the high price.

  • Tea time in Ikea – Monday

Tea time in Ikea – Monday

In the journey of my life I have always enjoyed meeting people and be able to connect with them with my story and life experience, when I became an international admission rep and I’m able to hear more stories and help guide the student towards their passion and goal. I was luck enough to be able to meet with a former student Jody, and help him on his journey to America. It was a pleasure to be able to meet with him and reconnect. So this post was an appreciation of the time we spent here.

Credit to Jody for taking photos of the experience.

Ikea was an excellent choice if you would want to have a sort of classy lunch but at affordable prices! Tea time never tasted better!

The Chocolate fudge cake and pie were an excellent choice especially for the affordable prices that were offered.

Overall an amazing day with an old acquaintance. A day to remember

  • Tasted of Chengdu – Orlando, FL

Tasted of Chengdu – Orlando, FL

We have very few good, local Chinese food restaurants in Orlando so when we saw some ads about this new opening place, we wanted to give it a try.

The feedback from my friends was that it was great but I was still a little scared to try Chuan cuisine (川菜).

They’re famous for spicy dishes, from hot pot to local traditional Mapo Doufu so 99% of their menu are spicy dishes.

We started out with appetizers — Savliva chicken and chongqing drool chicken.

The Fuqi Feipian, sliced beef and ox organs in a chili sauce, is one of their most popular dishes. But it’s still way too spicy for my taste.

Chuan cuisine (川菜) is always full of flavor, whether it’s a hot or cold dish.

This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is DSC02704-1024x575.jpg

You can see all the chili oil.

Chongqing Jell/clear noodle in chili sauce is served cold. It’s a very simple, clear noodle but the chili sauce really gives it something extra.

The Boiled Beef is sliced beef in hot chili oil. This is an entree but I personally can’t have more than one bite.

If you’re a fan of spicy food and/or Chuan cuisine (川菜), this is the place to go.

  • The Great Movie Ride – Disney’s Hollywood Studios

The Great Movie Ride – Disney’s Hollywood Studios

The very first time we came to Disney’s Hollywood Studios, it was so exciting for me to explore the new theme park.

I remember going with my grandfather and even though he was over 75 years old, he still got on The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror ride.

The name changed from MGM Studios to Hollywood Studios.

They have a replica of Grauman’s Chinese Theater.

I’ve been lucky enough to see the real thing in person while I was in L.A. and it looks identical to the one at Hollywood Studios.

My friend, Gigi, came with me for a day at Disney.

The Great Movie Ride debuted at this park location on May 1, 1989.

The ride is based on twelve classic films throughout motion picture history.

Most of the scenes use Audio-Animatronic figures, practical sets, live actors, special effects, and projections to recreate iconic scenes from each movie so it’s like you’re traveling back in time to see a film develop, in classic Hollywood, to present time.

While waiting in line, a short film is played, then you enter the ride like you’re entering a film studio.

There are palm trees set up, just like in Hollywood.

I love the color lighting at the entrance.

One of the most interesting things you see from the entrance are the Disney incorporated films, outside of its own library.

Normally they focus on their own property, but this ride has movies that are through its licensing agreement with MGM. Turner Classic Movies began sponsoring the attraction in 2015.

The ride duration is 22 minutes and there are 59 Audio-Animatronic figures.

The first genre of films introduced were musicals, which begins with a cake of starlets from By a Waterfall from Busby Berkeley’s Footlight Parade.

The Mary Poppins (Julie Andrews) and Bert (Dick Van Dyke) singing on the rooftops of London are original movie scenes from Mary Poppins.

The next scene was a tribute to the gangster film, The Public Enemy. This is the part of the ride where the cast members interact with the guests.

An actor plays a live gangster named Mugsy (Boy) or Mugsi (Girl) who shows up and gets involved in a shoot-out with rival mobsters (Brains, Legs, and Weasel).

Somehow the live gangster takes over and hijacks the ride, moving from scene to scene.

    The fire looks so life-like.

The Man with No Name (Clint Eastwood) stands outside of a saloon, along with Ethan Edwards (John Wayne).

This alien was part of the original Alien film.

There’s also a scene from Indiana Jones: Raiders of the Lost Ark.

This is the part where there’s a shoot-out with the rival mobsters and the tour guide from the beginning of the ride, returns.

The scene from The Wizard of Oz looks just like it does in the film.

The Audio-Animatronic figures sing while music plays.

The details of the Audio-Animatronic figures look like real people.

    Tarzan the Ape Man.

This ride has always been my favorite and I enjoyed all of the classic films they showed.

Sadly, The Great Movie Ride closed on August 13, 2017, becoming the last operating attraction from the park’s opening day to close.

Fortunately, the attraction will be replaced by Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway. Hopefully it will be a fun and amazing ride.

  • POGO Masters of the Universe Mini Figures

POGO Masters of the Universe Mini Figures

Ever since I was a kid, I’ve been a huge fan of Masters of the Universe and He-man.

After doing a lot of for online researching, I finally found a brand, based in China, called Pogo.

They definitely sell bootleg items. They actually released all 16 mini figures of He-Man. I’m not typically a huge fan of bootleg toys but these had such cool designs.

Here, you can see all of the figures Pogo has released. Some other blogs have shared the prototype.

The mini figures prototype didn’t look bad at all.

I found them on Taobao and got the complete set for a very reasonable price.

I was amazed by the quality. They really made their packaging similar to Lego.

In my opinion, they were totally worth it. Only one of them had a small issue from installation but everything else was good.

  • Dip-Dyed My Sneakers!

    Dip-Dyed My Sneakers!

I’ve been really interested in trying the dip dye process on my sneakers but it was a little difficult to find information on how to get started because some people don’t want to share any information or tips about it.

I want to thank @ddstck for helping out and breaking down the process for me. I think the best way to learn is to research and try doing it yourself. I’m very happy with how they turned out!

Before you start, you’ll need a few things. The preparation is very simple and most of the stuff is easy to find at an arts and crafts store or a Super Walmart.

You’ll need a plastic container, big enough to fit your sneakers.

I used rit dye synthetic. I’m not sure if there’s a difference between regular rit dye and synthetic rit dye.

You can clean your shoes using hot water. The longer you leave your shoe in the dye, the brighter the colors will be.

But beware that this could affect the bottom sole of the shoe and cause it to fall off the shoe. If the color isn’t a pigmented as you’d like,

you can always dye them again as opposed to leaving them to soak in the dye for too long the first go around.

Be sure to clean your shoes, especially if they’re a used pair.

I decided to dip dye some old triple white NMD that had turned yellow so I soaked them in a butter color.

The butter color transferred on to my shoes, and the bottom soles, very well.

I decided to do a second pair of shoes a went with a pair of my old Adidas sneakers. They came out so cool.

I love how the yellow has a faded, ombré affect. Make sure you dye your shoelaces at the same time you dye your shoes.
