  • Welcome to My New Site!

    Welcome to My New Site!

This has been on my long list of things that I’ve wanted to do — start my own personal site, talking about my journey and my favorite things.

Thank you to Oscar for making this project happen.

I’ve always been really into toys, dreaming about creating toys based on my childhood memories, and I’ve been extremely fortunate to have been able to accomplish this goal.

I appreciate all the opportunities I’ve had, to meet a lot of new people and local talent. Many of whom inspired me to continue to pursue my passion.

Maihiro has always been part of my philosophy and allows me to meet with a lot of great people who contribute their love and support. We’ve come this far because our number one goal is to create something what we love.

There are so many people I want to thank: John, Dave, Jonathan, Larnna, Jason, Mike, Oscar, Aaron, T.J., and Andy Hung.

Our goal is to produce some exciting content and support our friends and local businesses.

We hope you’ll join us on this journey. Cheers!

  • Spiki’s Java Adventure 2014 Day 1

    Spiki’s Java Adventure 2014 Day 1

I finally made it through the long flight. I got some good rest and started my Indonesia adventure.

I never thought I would get to go to Indonesia so I was very excited to see something new and explore the local food scene and culture.

So the first local thing Joshua gave me was American soda – wait what?! While the same in every aspect, the serving is really tiny.

Joshua took the time to show me around his area – Ancol Beach. We also took this opportunity to check out a place that he will be moving to soon. Let me just say that the house is beautiful and has lots of room for display toys! We then hit up the local super market by his pad for some local snacks and awesome goodies.

This is Budi. He is the co-owner of Plastic Culture. He has an amazing personality, extremely friendly, and super cool. Just like me, Budi enjoys food. I hope that next year that I will have tons of room in my belly for Budi’s food journey.

We decided to go to a local seafood spot. It was delicious!

Asian fruits that we don’t have in the USA. The dip is a spicy peanut sauce.

    Awesome local desserts.

Sari Asem Asli. It’s a drink. It was good.

Josh and Budi helped order for me since I can’t read Bahasa. They chose a lot of awesome dishes for me to try.

dinner time with Grace Kusnadi at Pacific Place Mall.

Make sure to check out my next vlog, where we’ll exploring more local food.

  • Spiki’s Java Adventure 2014

    Spiki’s Java Adventure 2014

This was the most exciting trip, EVER! I want to give a huge thanks to PopCon’s Grace Kusnadi and Plastic Culture’s Joshua Artono for inviting me to Indonesia to attend this event.

Prior to the event, I was working super hard, over a 2 month period, preparing customs, collaboration projects, Keynote presentations, and my, “Lucky Cat Spiki,” which was exclusive to the convention. But I have to say, next to preparation, the trip to Indonesia was a preparation on its own.

From Orlando to Jakarta, I was in the air for more than 24 hours and needed to take 3 connecting flights.

    Start: Orlando, Florida USA

1st Stop: Dallas / Fort Worth, Texas USA

    TEA BREAK!

Typically Spiki and I experience amazing food no matter where we go! American Airlines… well, no comment.

13+ hours later, I finally made it to Japan’s Narita International Airport.

Now….on to the 3rd connecting flight to Jakarta.

I was surprised I had time to take pictures of the famous Tokyo Banana!

Looking to fly to Japan? Fly Japan Airlines. It was my first time, but man they are classy. Great customer service, great meal, and even Häagen-Daas for dessert!

    TWENTY HOURS later…JAKARTA!

My first experience traveling to Indonesia, I was nervous and many people were offering me their taxi services right when I was walking out of the airport. A few minutes later, Josh showed up and took care of everything.

After we settled down, we decided to grab some local dessert and drinks.

Yummy! Boba is very popular here in Jakarta, just like in many other countries. Make sure you to check out my next post!
